April Showers Cocktail
April showers bring May flowers, but in this case, they also bring an April Showers Cocktail with edible flowers for garnish. Made with gin, fresh lemon juice, agave, and a splash of pink grapefruit juice, this drink is the ultimate springtime sip. Finish it with edible flowers for a touch of beauty.

Gin, fresh lemon juice, agave pink grapefruit juice are perfectly blended to make this the perfect springtime drink.
The perfect springtime drink with the perfect springtime taste! There’s nothing better than sitting outdoors on a warm spring evening, sipping a refreshing cocktail with friends, family, or both as the sun sets. This is the drink you’ll want in hand for that moment.
Table of contents

April Showers Cocktail Ingredients
This easy recipe only has 4 ingredients (some of which you may already have).
- Gin
- Lemon juice
- Agave nectar
- Red grapefruit juice
- Edible Flower Cocktail Garnish
For a lovely presentation, I used a 100% edible dianthus flower that I received in my CSA farm box.

Cocktail Sweetness
This cocktail perfectly balances sweet and tart flavors. If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more agave. If you like it on the tart side, add extra grapefruit juice. You can also substitute simple syrup or triple sec.

Spring Cocktail Glasses
When it comes to your glass choice, you have options. I like to mix the drink and shake in a cocktail shaker then strain. You don’t have to serve it in a coupe glass or martini glass; you can also serve it over ice in a short glass. Just make sure it’s a nicely chilled glass.
Gin or Vodka
Not a gin drinker? No problem, use your favorite vodka instead. Clear/silver tequila could also be an option.
April Showers Mocktail (without alcohol)
Simply omit the gin or vodka, this is still a delicious warmer weather cooler.

More Springtime Cocktails
Spring is the perfect time to sip on refreshing cocktails that capture the season’s fresh flavors. A Tequila Paloma bursts with fruity grapefruit and lime, making it the ultimate citrusy pick-me-up for sunny afternoons.
For a fruity twist, a Pimm’s Strawberry Cocktail blends the sweetness of ripe strawberries with fruity Pimm’s, mint, and a splash of lemonade. And for those who love a fresh, herbaceous kick, the Cucumber Gin Fizz delivers cool cucumber infused gin, and fizzy soda for a light and effervescent delight. Whether you’re toasting to blooming flowers or just soaking up the sun, these spring sips make it even better.
