Why do people enter in contests with emails and contact details that they never check? Or enter them incorrectly?
And also why do they enter contests without checking whether or not they are eligible to win?
I just don’t get it. Wouldn’t you WANT to win, if you enter a contest?
This last contest I ran did not go very well at all! Half of the winners either didn’t respond or didn’t qualify, and I’m scrambling to get everything in order so that everyone gets their bag on time.

hahahahaha…well, I wasn't a winner, but I didn't even see the posting announcing the winner. Although, if you want to make me a winner in lieu of one of these slackers…let me know! hahahahhaa.
i also did not see any post about the winners. and some people are just very bad at checking their spam folder. did you have a subject line other than "you win" like all those spammies? and i'll fight melanie to get the prize instead of the other "winner" lol

I finally go a hold of everyone after a few tries, so the prizes are on their way.
I didn't think I would need to do a winner's post since it was not a huge contest, and no one really cares who won if it wasn't them! I figured that a personal email would be the best way to reach them all.
But good point about the spam filters, Bekki. I will have to keep that in mind for next time, though I have never had a problem with them before!
I know in my email I get tons of spam ( I use my main account for all online thing) but I have the filters set to extreme, so basically if your email address isn't in my contact list, you get sent to the spam folder. I still go through the spam folder daily, just in case, but sometimes you just miss something. And if you do a winners post, some people subscribe to your blog so they'd read every post. If they missed the email they might notice their name in the post as well.
LOL sorry, I was about to volunteer to take a bag, too. 😉 Perhaps you should suggest that it's up the winners to contact you after a winning post so that you don't have to deal with this in the future? Or that the prizes go back up for grabs if you're unable to reach the initial winners? [That last one isn't meant to be completely self serving 🙂 ]

I obsessively check my email addresses (all of them come to my 'Mail' inbox) and the spam folder, too…because things sometimes slip in there when they shouldn't have!
