So, I’m going to Vegas. Which costs a lot. Which means that I need to save in other areas to be able to afford this trip.
I signed up for some clay pottery classes a while ago that are due to start at the end of March. I’ve given them my CC# but haven’t been charged yet.
I was thinking of cancelling out of this class and saving the $185 it would cost me. I would be missing a class while I was in Vegas anyway.
The challenges:
1. I actually do want to take this class
2. They would charge a $25 admin fee if I cancel
I wonder if I can afford the $185 for classes, on top of my Vegas trip? (Yes I realize there was some poor planning involved in this. I’m only human!)
What would you do in this situation? Pretend it’s a class you would actually like if you’re not into pottery.
I’ll be thinking this over in the meantime.

Hmm tough call.
Is there another class you could sign up for for after Vegas? Then you could save the $185 now and save up for it again when you return from Vegas.
Um, yeah I’d see if you can switch from this class to a later one without losing the admin fee. Its worth asking. Otherwise, I’d probably stay in it. you’ve got that nicely funded wedding fund to borrow from….
but then again, you’re asking me, a newly reformed (and constantly failing) spendaholic! I wouldn’t take financial advice from me!
How many classes are there in total, how many are you going to miss, and do the lessons build on eachother?
If it was me, I’d probably keep the class if I was only going to miss one and there are at least 8. If its 4 or something small like that I’d drop it. You’d be missing out in a large part of the learning!!
If there are classes coming up soon after your trip that you can save up for definitely try to switch. That way you don’t have to be as worried about that money while you’re in Vegas. (Again, if this is a “once in a lifetime” class that you won’t be able to take later….keep it!!)
