My Face Is Worth…

Rae at theNotice did an interesting article on how much her face costs in terms of makeup. I thought it would be kind of cool to tally up all of my regular products and find out just how much my face is worth.

She did it based on what she was wearing at the moment, but since what I’m wearing is pretty minimal (it’s a Friday, what do you expect?) I decided to include a standard look I use when going out to party, too.

So how do you find out how much your face is worth? Just add up the costs of each of the products you use to do your face (not including cleansers or tools like brushes, curlers, etc.) in the morning!

I think you’ll be surprised at just how much it really costs!

Today my face is worth…

Annique Rooibos Moisturizer: $24.00
Avon Eyeliner: $3.00
MAC Concealer: $18.50
Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation: $30.00
BE Mineral Veil: $30.00
Physician’s Formula Bronzer: $16.00
MAC Blush: $21.00
Maybelline Mascara: $10.00
JR Watkins Lipbalm: $4.00

Total: $156.50

When I go out my face is worth…

Annique Rooibos Moisturizer: $24.00
MAC Concealer: 18.50
Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation: 30.00
BE Mineral Veil: 30.00
Physician’s Formula Bronzer: 16.00
MAC Blush: 21.00
MAC Eye Paint: 20.00
MAC Shadow #1: 17.00
MAC Shadow #2: 17.00
MAC Shadow #3: 17.00
MAC Kohl Eyeliner: 17.00
Avon Supershock Mascara: 10.00
MAC Lipliner: 15.50
MAC Lipstick: 16.50
Covergirl Brow Pencil: 3.00

Total: $272.50+

If I were to add in the cost of all my brushes and tools it would be quite outrageous :S oops.

So, how much is your face worth??

  1. That’s pretty funny. Today my face is worth pennies… just washed it and put a bit of moisturizer on it. Since being unemployed and moving to a more laid-back, au naturel town, my interest in wearing make-up has kind of gone down the drain. Although I was getting lazier and lazier. In some ways I miss it though – I do like getting dressed and made-up when i go out on the town, but lately those times have been far and few between!

  2. Like Saver Queen, I too am currently au naturel most days lately, but still know how to turn it on when necessary! 😉

My no makeup face is about $24 although I’m including cleanser in that total.

My made up face is about $184, but I have recently started purchasing healthier organic and paraben free cosmetics when my current ones run out, and that’s definately driving the cost up. I think its worth the extra expense though!

  3. This is a good exercise. I’d be afraid to calculate what my face is worth on days I go out clubbing. I use so many eyeshadows sometimes it would be ridiculous.
