I hope the dish was delicious. I did not brown the sausage before adding. I love that you used mild and spicy.

Can’t wait! From the photo it looked like you browned the sausage. Do you think it’s better that way? The fry pan was already used, so I decided to brown some of them. I had doubled the sausage with one pound chicken and one mild Italian for my husband. Thanks for the recipe.

Hi Alyson, yes this measurement is accurate. The liquid does not need to cover the ingredients as everything cooks by braising. You can see in the last picture of my crockpot that the ingredients are not completely submerged. I’m so glad they all liked it because there’s nothing better than the approval of picky eating kids 🙂

We just made it and the 1/3 cup of chicken stock was not nearly enough to cover the I gredie ya in the crock pot. Is that measurement accurate? We needed more like 3 cups. I also wanted to let you know how incredible this meal was. My family devoured it and loved it. My picky 5 and 3 year olds, my little 1 year old, and my husband all ate it for two nights. (I’m vegetarian so I didn’t join in, but it looked and smelled great.)Thank you so much.
